Consignment percentage for sneakers
Updated October 4, 2026
The usual range
The consignor's share is what they get from each sale. The shop keeps the rest as its commission.
| Consignor gets | Shop keeps | |
|---|---|---|
| Low end | 75% | 25% |
| Typical | 80% | 20% |
| High end | 85% | 15% |
What moves the split
- Market prices. Resale prices are public, so consignors compare your split with what they would make selling online.
- Speed. Popular pairs sell in days, so the shop earns from volume more than from a big cut.
- Authentication. Checking every pair is the shop's main cost and the reason buyers come to it.
- Minimum fee. Many shops add a flat fee per pair, so low-priced pairs still pay for handling.
A split tiered by price
Many shops give consignors a bigger share as prices go up, so their best pieces are worth bringing in. A common ladder:
| Item price | Consignor gets | Shop keeps |
|---|---|---|
| Under $200 | 75% | 25% |
| $200 to $500 | 80% | 20% |
| $500 and up | 85% | 15% |

| $150 | 75% / 25% | $112.50 | $37.50 |

| $900 | 85% / 15% | $765 | $135 |
Setting it up in Consignment Hub
Consignment Hub uses one split per consignor: your shop's default, or a share you set for that consignor. Each item keeps the split it was taken in at, and each sale is split by what the customer paid, after discounts and before tax. It doesn't change the split by price on its own, so shops with a ladder give consignors of high-value pieces their own share.
Questions
What percentage do sneaker consignment stores take?
Usually 15 to 25% of the sale price, so the consignor gets 75 to 85%. Some shops add a flat fee per pair on top.
How do I track pairs from different consignors?
Each pair belongs to whoever brought it in, even when the same shoe in other sizes came from someone else. Track sales by pair, so the right consignor is paid.
Why are sneaker splits so high?
Pairs sell quickly at prices anyone can look up, and consignors can sell online themselves. A shop earns by turning stock fast and selling pairs it has checked.
